James Joseph Parsons is an Emmy and Golden Globe-winning American actor who rose to fame for his portrayal of Sheldon Cooper on the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory from 2007–2019. He won four Primetime Emmys and two Golden Globes for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his performance. He had a recurring role on the CBS legal drama Judging Amy before landing his role on The Big Bang Theory.
